Amid heated controversy over the absence of its own data center (IDC) after the Kakao Blackout incident, it has been confirmed that Kakao has decided to invest a total of 1.5 trillion won in the construction of the first and second data centers. However, it is pointed out that the first data center aims to operate from the first quarter of 2024 and the second data center in January 2027, which is not enough to prevent the “second Kakao Blackout” situation until it is operated.
