Most Profitable Ways to Monetize a Website
Anyone with a website can make money out of it. In fact, there are several options for site owners depending on their target audience, traffic volume, website niche, and visitor behavior. Monetizing your websites helps you cover your domain hosting expenses and possibly replace your full-time job.
Here are a few ways to do it:
Affiliate programs
You must have heard of it. It’s one of the most effective ways to earn money from your site. Essentially, it is promoting other people’s products/services and making money from it.
Think of a car salesman; when they sell a car, they receive a commission from the sales. Affiliate marketing is no different. The only difference is that it’s far easier– as easy as putting up a link on your site and potentially earning as much as the physical salesman.
Google Ad sense
The google ad sense option is another means for publishers. In this platform, only ads relevant to your website contents get displayed. For example, if you write materials related to traveling, Google may place airline ads or ads associated with traveling. Google, in turn, pays you a percentage depending on the clicks and page impressions/views generated.
The ad sense platform is prevalent because of its simplicity and convenience. You just need to place an HTML code precisely where you want the ads to appear. Note that Google only allows up to 3 ads per page.
In addition, you don’t have to worry about chasing advertisers for payment. Google does it for you.
Sell ad space
Some sites have some significant traffic levels because of their impressive followings. These sites can opt to sell direct ad space on their websites. Owners get paid according to the number of visitors they attract. It may not be lucrative for sites that have low traffic volumes, but it’s a goldmine for high-traffic sites.
A good thing about ad space selling is that you are in control of your site. This means you can control which ad gets on your site and the price you charge per ad banner.
The better the traffic, the more rewarding the platform. This, however, means that if your site does not attract a lot of traffic, then this option may not be the best for you. If you really want this monetization approach, you will need to lower your banner price and be indiscriminate on the type of ads appearing on your site.
More and more people are enjoying digital success. You too can share the same victory by taking the time to establish your online venture by using any of the opportunities cited above.
